John Mike Dale

With the great number of acne care products and programs you see online and in television advertisements, you may sometimes find yourself a little confused trying to find the perfect solution for your skin problems. One way you can try to make sure whether or not the product you are thinking of buying is going to work for you is to try and find an acne care product skin treatment that is highly recommended by doctors. A lot of these products that are considered effective in the treatment of acne are being endorsed by celebrities, and while they may show you rather convincing before and after pictures or give heart warming testimonials about what happened to their skin after they were treated with such and such products, nothing is more effective than an acne care product skin doctors say can truly work to help you with your acne problems.

Approaching a skin doctor to find out whether or not a particularly popular acne product is going to work for you is probably a wise recourse since such a doctor will know what medicinal components can work for your particular type of skin, acne problem and age. A skin doctor has studied extensively about the human skin and he or she is well qualified to tell you whether or not an acne care treatment will work on you. There may be an acne care product skin doctors recommend online that may not work for you since there are certain cases that do need the personal attention of your local skin doctors. These special cases require the special care of a dermatologist, and they are usually those that are not just simple acne problems brought about by puberty or excess oil and dirt on a person's skin.

You should treat your acne problems with a careful scrutiny of the products and procedures involved, and you should do proper research to find out what acne can do to your skin, what some acne treatments can do for you and what a lot of skin doctors consider the best acne care products you can use on your skin. With an acne care product skin doctors recommend, you can be fairly certain that your acne problems will soon be solved.

An example of an acne care product skin doctors are most likely to endorse is one that does not have harsh chemicals that will do more harm than good to your skin. Another quality that you should look out for when choosing an acne care product is the protection it provides against the sun and other harmful elements. You should also consider if the ingredients used for the product are suitable for your skin type. These are just a few of the things you will have to take into account when choosing an acne care product, and you should listen to the advice of skin doctors about these to get the best possible results for your skin.

Yeast Infection Help By Matthew Bredel

Matthew Bredel

There are many types of candida infections. Your lifestyle and your diet can play a huge part in helping with this condition or in increasing the likelihood of recurring problems. Not only can it kill candida infections but also it can keep them away in the first place. You need a little bit of candida yeast in your body but when it gets beyond a certain level, that’s when the problems start.

Diet, lifestyle and predisposition to candida infections can all contribute to frequency and severity of symptoms.

There are several types of candida infections including: Penile yeast infections, Vaginal yeast infections, Oral thrush and Candida Esophagitis

Candida can have very obvious symptoms and it can present in a way that would surprise people as well. Some of the more obvious symptoms include: rashes on the skin, vaginal or penile discharge, white patches in the mouth, or in the throat. Less obvious symptoms could include food cravings, sinus infections, bloating, difficulty swallowing such as with Candida Esophagitis and other symptoms that many don’t typically connect with yeast overgrowth. Candida can be bothersome in many and an extremely dangerous condition to some who are immune suppressed.

Detection of yeast infections can be based on several factors including obvious symptoms, swab or culture and examination of the area. In truth, lifestyle changes are most likely in order if your trusty treatment only offers a temporary Band-Aid solution.

Here are a few of the things you can do to treat yeast infections and keep them away in the first place:

· Eat well. Avoid junk food and yeast causing foods. There are many candida diet plans listed online you can follow.

· Exercise. A healthy body can house a better balance of positive and negative bacteria or flora and sweating also helps rid your body of toxins which candida can thrive on.

· Strive for a healthy pH level in the slightly alkaline state, which encourages healthy flora growth and keeps albicans levels in check.

· Consider eating probiotics and prebiotics or take a synbiotic supplement. A synbiotic is a combination of pre and probiotics. Probiotics contain healthy flora and prebiotics are food for the flora to keep it healthy

Medications for Yeast infections

Many medications exist that are over the counter, by prescription and that are alternative holistic options as well. You can find a lot of information about what medication might be right for you and for many, alternative health or natural healing techniques prove far more effective. While a prescribed medication can help you with a one-off candida infection, if you have recurring problems, you should look at your overall health and wellness. Recurring yeast infection sufferers may want to consider trying a thirty-day candida diet and increasing exercise levels to see if there is a difference.

Acne Skin Care Recipes That Will Help You Solve Your Acne Problems By John Mike Dale

John Mike Dale

There are a lot of products in the market for those who need acne treatments and those who have acne prone skin. What some people may not know is that there are actually acne skin care recipes you can use to make your own skin care solutions. These acne skin care recipes are created from ingredients that can be easily found around your house and in your kitchen.

Since acne is often caused by the production of excess oils in a person's skin, one of the acne skin care recipes you will need to create is a facial wash that will help remove the dirt that is clogged in your pores as well as remove the excess oils that are found on your skin. One such ingredient that will help get rid of the excess oils is apple cider vinegar or any naturally fermented vinegar. Of course, since vinegar is pretty acidic, you will need to be careful with it and use it in a diluted form. You will need to mix one part vinegar, one part apple cider or any other natural vinegar, and around 8 to 10 parts water to get the kind of safe mixture you will need to cleanse your face with. You can use a piece of cotton or a cotton ball dipped in this solution to wipe off excess oils on your skin as well as remove deep seated dirt from your skin.

Another one of the more commonly used acne skin care recipes that you can create in the comfort of your own home is an egg-white mask. This simple mask consists of nothing but a couple of stiffly beaten egg-whites. All you need to do is beat a couple of egg-whites until they are nice and fluffy and smear them on your face. You will have to let this mask sit for a few minutes or until it dries out, and then wash it off with clean, warm water. Then, pat dry with a clean towel. Other acne skin care recipes that use egg-whites sometimes use dry oatmeal in the mixture to help draw out the excess oils in the skin. You can use this egg-white and oatmeal combination on your skin, but you must be careful not to use it more than once or twice a week since this may easily dry your skin out as well.

You can also create acne skin care recipes or combination recipes based on ingredients that are known to help kill bacteria as well as remove the elements that cause acne. You can add baking soda to your egg white mixture or your vinegar solution, or you can use baking soda mixed with a little distilled or purified water as a gentle exfoliating agent for your acne prone skin.

Botox Cosmetic Injection: Questions Answered By Lisa Ortega

Lisa Ortega

Finding ways to alter the appearance of aging skin is becoming a larger and larger medical field, in particular, cosmetic medical field. Many healthcare professionals are seeking ways to help their patients achieve the looks that they desire through the use of minimally invasive treatment options which do not require surgery.

A botox cosmetic injection is one example of this growing field of cosmetic medical treatments which involve altering the appearance of facial lines, wrinkles, creases, and in botox’s case, limiting the range of motion which would potentially increase or deepen lines on the face. Facial injections of various types are being used in skin care clinics by dermatologists all over the world and many are seeking freedom from aging at the hands of such injections. Many dermatologists offer them in conjunction with other treatments which are meant to offer facial rejuvenation. A botox cosmetic injection is one form of facial rejuvenation which offers patients fewer fine lines and wrinkles, especially where the use of muscles on the face have over time brought about creases.

It is important to note that there are benefits and risks associated with every medical skin care option. Botox injections, like other facial injections such as restylane, sculptra, and cosmelan are all forms of age management which are meant to either fill in areas where collagen has diminished over time or to prevent the skin from creasing and folding by limiting the ability of the face to move around. There has been much speculation as to the risks related to a botox cosmetic injection since its primary ingredient is derived from bacteria. Nonetheless, it is approved as safe to treat age management issues in skin care clinics. Prior to treatments, it is always a good idea to educate yourself on any potential side effects and to discuss your treatment with a trusted dermatologist who is familiar with your skin type and who understands your goals. Furthermore, cosmetic skin care treatments are generally not covered by health care providers so it is also important to understand the financial commitment associated with the treatment.

Usually those seeking out a botox cosmetic injection are looking for a way to limit the appearance of fine lines on the face and botox assists in this area by limiting the range of motion within which muscles are able to move and add additional lines. The treatment is obviously not permanent and repeat injections must be administered by a dermatologist every few months or so, depending on the patient’s skin. Some patients may notice that consecutively having the treatment performed leads to insensitivity to its effects, so this matter should be discussed with a skin care professional. Understanding the benefits and risks of the treatment is important so that you are fully informed of how the treatment affects the skin and so treatments are satisfactory. As with any age management treatment, it is important to have realistic expectations and to realize that no treatment is permanent and no treatment can stop time. Having a positive attitude is important.

A Binge Eating Disorder Is Treatable By Tom Houser

Tom Houser

If you overeat on a regular basis in order to cope with stress or negative feelings then it is quite possible that you suffer from a binge eating disorder. In addition, the over eater feels even worse after they have finished their binge. An important point to note is that this condition is treatable. Therefore, please consult a physician as soon as possible if you suffer from this condition.

A binge eating disorder is seen as compulsive overeating where the person eats a large amount of food without being able to stop eating or control their eating. These episodes can last for a couple of hours at a time. In some cases, the individual will eat off and on all day long. They will eat when they are not hungry and will not stop eating even when they are completely full. Another symptom is that they could eat so fast that they do not even register what they have just eaten.

As you can see, a binge eating disorder can be extremely harmful. It leaves the person with feelings of guilt and feeling depressed. These negative feelings just add to the problem of over-eating. This eating disorder affects both men and women. Whereas, other eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia affect mainly women. For most people, the only way out of it is professional help. The first step to get out of this downward spiral is to tell someone that you have a problem.

Another tip to help overcome a binge eating disorder is not being so hard on yourself. Do not beat yourself up. Learn from your mistakes and move on. In addition, do not keep so much food at home. Try to figure out what causes you to overeat. What are the triggers that cause the overeating? Of course the most important step is to seek professional help, you cannot do it all on your own.

Binge eating disorder is the most common eating disorder in the United States. However, it does not receive as much attention as the purging disorders like anorexia nervosa and bulimia. These conditions are likened to substance abuse. They all involve obsessive thoughts and an overwhelming compulsion to over consume. The individual feeling overwhelmed by different feelings such as guilt and shame usually follows this.

Only recently have researchers and scientists discovered a number of brain messengers that are involved in the hunger, eating and satiation. This will allow doctors to develop better methods for treating people with a binge eating disorder. When a person with this form of addiction seeks help, the goal is for them to be able to eat when they are hungry, and not when there is something in their life that is causing stress. Treatment will also teach the individual when to stop eating when they are full. Changes in eating habits will not happen overnight. It is important to stay positive and trust your doctor or therapist. If you do not have the trust in the person treating you then it is highly advisable to change therapists. Trust is important in treating any form of eating disorder.

Everyone experiences some amount of depression in one’s life. However, for some people, the amount tends to increase with time. When this amount increases to a great extent, it is not normal. The stage affects a lot in a person’s mental and physical status.

When it comes to the normal blues, these are sometimes triggered by anything from a particular thing someone had seen, said, thought or feared. Sometimes, these blues occur without any valid reason, warning or explanation. This is the time where one just waits for the bad period to just pass by quietly.

However, if you are keen on knowing whether you have serious depression, it is a wise idea to go for some kind of self tests. These self depression tests will explain you clearly about whether you have a serious depression or plain blues.

a) Are you feeling totally withdrawn from pleasures of life? This is actually the most accurate self depression’s test. All you require to do is to try out something that you are aware of and used to give a lot of happiness in earlier days. This may be anything from your favorite movie, hobby, shopping venture etc. in case, you find out that all these things do not have anything to do with your pleasure now, then this is definitely a sign of serious depression.

b) Have been forgetting a lot of things off late? Remember that depression tends to cause hiccups in your memory and you would come to know that certain things are completely wiped out from the memory. The often leaves you totally baffled. This is another test that works towards providing you exact results.

c) Is it becoming difficult for you to skip at night? Or have you been sleeping very little during the night? If yes, then it may be due to a lot of coffee or stimulants. Why do you like coffee or stimulants too much? If you don’t have an answer for this, than the self depression test is going to provide you a great answer for it.

d) Have you lost your appetite lately? There are times when one doesn’t feel like eating. This is normal. However, if it becomes a common affair, the self depression test, confirms that it is a ‘yes’.

e) In case, your answer to all the questions mentioned above is in ‘yes’, then you are definitely suffering from a serious depression. Here, it is really important for you to get some hold or yourself and go for a professional help.

f) There are some other tests you may go for. One of the most popular tests remains the gold berg test. This test was designed by Dr. Ivan Goldberg. The test consists of some eighteen questions. Each question is supposed to be answered by the individual. The use of a sliding scale of responses is mandatory. This actually shows how they have felt during the week that has just gone by.

As soon as all the questions are answered, scores are added for the final score wherein each score has a specific significance. The final score settles whether you are depressed or not.

Depression: Medications For Effective Treatment By Bertil Hjert

Bertil Hjert

Medications to curb, treat and cure depression are widely available on the market, these days. These medications are known as antidepressant medications.

Depression does not occur to a specific type of individual. It can strike anyone, anytime and anywhere. However, the treatment for depression is very effective and in almost 80 per cent of identified cases the disease is cured when the treatment is given.

There are two main approaches when it comes to providing treatment to the patient of depression; psychotherapy and medications. Antidepressants medications are often used to make the psychotherapy treatment more effective for certain people.

If a person is depressed to a great extent and unable to talk, it is impossible for that person to get benefit from counseling or even psychotherapy. The right kind of medication can always improve symptoms and help the person respond in a great way.

Here are some of the most prevalent medications available for depression. Most of the treatment options mentioned below are widely available. You will not have any problems finding any of these medications or treatments through your doctor.

A) Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors or SSRIs

B) Tricyclics

C) Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors or MAOIs

The SSRIs are said to affect neurotransmitters such as norephinephrine or dopamine. These medicines do not give out much side effects.

Mostly the doctor will try out a huge variety of antidepressants prior to finding the medications or even combination of certain medications most effective for the patient. There are times when the doctor feels that a particular dosage must be increased in order to be really effective. You should focus on taking antidepressant medications on a regular basis for as many as about eight weeks prior to the effect starts on your body.

Very often, patients are tempted in order to step the medication. They are really keen on stopping the medications as soon as possible.

There are several reasons for this. Most of the time, they think that the medication is not working at all. The other is that they believe it has already worked a lot to exterminate the problem totally.

As soon as the individual starts feeling better, it is vital to continue the medication for about four to nine months in order to prevent recurrence of the condition.

However, there are also certain medications that should be discontinued gradually. This is usually done to allow the body time to adjust.

People with condition such as biopolar disorder or chronic major depression, medicines need to be maintained for an indefinite period of time.

Most people are under a notion that antidepressant drugs are habit forming. However, this is not the condition. It is extremely necessary for the person to monitor the exact dosage of these medications to be taken in order to benefit in a good manner. It is the duty of doctor to keep tabs on the dosage and the effectiveness on a regular basis.

Some people are quite benefited from MAO inhibitors. These people need to keep themselves away from certain foods with high levels of tyramine including a variety of cheeses, pickles and wines. People taking MAO inhibitors are also not allowed to take certain medications such as decongestants.

Overall, taking antidepressant medications is going to benefit you a lot. Important is to follow the subscription and advice from your medical expert.

Introduction To Physical Therapy - Rehabilitation Of Amputees And The Advantages Of Physiotherapy By Dr Alex B. Miguel

Dr Alex B. Miguel

Amputation is a major blow to anyone, both physically and psychologically. To help a person deal with the loss of a limb a team of trained professionals is engaged – a doctor, a prosthetist, a psychologist, and nurses. To rehabilitate an amputee, a physiotherapist is also required.

When a person is adjusting to life without a limb, a physiotherapist is almost indispensable in the patient’s healing process. An amputee has to deal with several physical and physiological issues the. Among these are phantom pains, which are painful sensations that seem to emanate from the limb that has already been removed, as if it still exists. These are nervous responses and require physiotherapy to overcome and treat it.

A prosthetic limb is a must-have for most amputees. Though it is a common notion that learning how to wear it is enough, most don’t realize how difficult it can be to adjust to an alien appendage. There are many amputees who have been wearing prosthetic limbs for years, but can still not function normally. Such situations only underline the need for amputee rehabilitation.

The use of a prosthetic limb can be made easier with physiotherapy. Therapy allows a person to get used to the new limb. The routine followed by the patient for this adaptation depends on individual needs and abilities.

Often amputees lose their sense of balance and have to be taught how to walk or stand without support. This is seen more often in the case of a leg or foot amputation. That, however, does not mean that a person who loses an arm will not have a problem with his balance. The redistribution of weight due to the loss of an arm can also result in balancing problems for the amputee.

Many amputees do not realize that it is possible to completely mask a limp, even with the use of a prosthetic limb, if the person learns to walk in the best suitable manner. Physiotherapist are able to train amputees during the rehabilitation program and once this limp is camouflaged, the battle is half won.

It is best to begin physiotherapy immediately after the surgery, to avoid the weakening or unequal strengthening of muscles. An amputee subconsciously uses only one set of muscles as far as possible to avoid strain on the weakened set, thus weakening them further. The sooner the physiotherapy starts, the easier it will be to address such issues.

Physiotherapy for amputees is never a generalized program. It depends on individual needs and will always be a program tailor-made to suit the patient. Exercise routines are customized according to the kind of rehabilitation required in the case of each amputee.

Massages, otherwise called manual therapies, are also included in the physiotherapy program. Exercise stresses the muscles and manual therapy helps to ease out the tension and pain from the muscles that are being taxed to adjust to their difficult situation. Other manual therapies include acupuncture, heat compresses, ultrasound massages and electrical stimulation.

In amputee rehabilitation programs, physiotherapy is an indispensable treatment. A person having lost a limb needs such therapy and help without any question. Yet there are amputees who think it is not necessary, or are too shocked to consider recovery a possibility. It is imperative that such patients be convinced to start physiotherapy to get back to their normal daily lives without feeling at a loss.

Weight reduction is specific areas of the body can be performed but is not a permanent solution. If holding extra weight in the chin area is not genetic, then it is a good idea to look into losing that weight prior, and adjusting any lifestyle habits that may contribute to its return should surgery be performed. Locate a plastic surgeon who you can trust and who is experienced in the specific procedure being performed. It is always a good idea to ask plenty of questions and to have lengthy discussions with plastic surgeons prior to a double chin reduction.

It is always a good idea to get a clear understanding of any financial commitment involved as well since most health insurance providers will not cover cosmetic procedures that are not associated with any medical need. Discussing this matter at a cosmetic plastic surgery clinic is always best, so that the procedure can be understood and satisfactory. Patients ought to explore the many options available which involve minimally invasive double chin reduction techniques which are offered by experienced cosmetic surgeons. Why Choose Natural Skin Care Products For Acne? By John Mike Dale

John Mike Dale

The reason why people choose natural skin care products for acne as opposed to those that are made of synthetic materials is often due to the fact that a lot of synthetic materials are known to cause more harm than good. There are a lot of natural skin care products for acne that people can choose from, and these are all made from natural ingredients that are less likely to cause allergic reactions or make a person's skin break out. Natural skin care products for acne are often the most appropriate choice for those who have very sensitive skin that cannot withstand certain harsh chemicals used in some acne treatment products.

Finding natural skin care products for acne is not that hard to do as long as you know what kind of products you are looking for. The products that claim that they are natural skin care products for acne are often made of non-synthetic ingredients, and they are mostly herbal or botanical. These skin care products that are all natural are marketed in such a way that they will appeal to consumers and acne sufferers who need acne care solutions that do not contain synthetic ingredients that may cause damage to their skin.

Whether or not natural skin care products for acne are better than other kinds of acne treatment products depends on the formulation of the products and how closely the user follows the instructions of use. It is also advisable that a person suffering from acne do not try something that is not recommended by skin care experts or dermatologists since some products may be falsely marketed as effective acne treatment products.

Aside from acne treatment products that help people get rid of acne, there are also natural skin care products for acne prone individuals that help keep a person's skin clean and healthy. Such products are effective in keeping breaks out at bay, and they are usually cleansing and toning products that are aimed at promoting healthy skin. There are a lot of products out there that are created for this purpose, but quite a number of them have certain components that can either cause or aggravate acne. This may be due to the clogging of the person's pores or allergic reactions to one or two synthetic substances that are included in the formulation of these products. Natural skin care products for acne may still cause some of these reactions, but due to the fact that they contain more natural ingredients, they are less likely to do so than other non-natural skin products.

Should You Trust An Acne Skin Care Product That Is Endorsed By A Celebrity? By John Mike Dale

John Mike Dale

With the huge competition going on between the numerous acne removal and prevention products in the market these days, it is no wonder that some companies take the celebrity endorser route and get famous actors, actresses and other well-known names and faces to sell their acne skin care products. While you may be staring in awe at your favorite singer or actress telling you about an amazing acne skin care product that she used to make her skin glow and look flawless, you need to think for a moment. Is your favorite actress telling you the truth or is she just saying what she is saying because she is being paid by the company that manufactures the product she is endorsing?

Getting to the nitty gritty about these infomercials and the acne skin care product that your favorite singer is selling may involve a little bit of research, especially in the kind of chemicals and materials that are used to make the acne cure. What are the ingredients used to make the acne skin care product that is endorsed by the famous celebrity? Does the celebrity use the product on herself too? Most of the time, when the question about whether or not an endorser uses the product pops up, the most likely answer is no. A lot of celebrities get combination treatments from dermatologists and skin experts to get their skin in the kind of condition that makes them look fabulous. Other times, the flawless complexions of famous personalities who appear in magazines and television are the result of carefully applied makeup or airbrushed techniques applied through the use of computer technology.

To ascertain whether or not an acne skin care product that is being hawked by a celebrity is worth buying, you need to have a good understanding of which components are effective for treating acne problems and which ones are not. It also means that you have to know which products to avoid when you find that there are ingredients that do more harm than good to your skin.

An example of a component that an acne skin care product may contain that will do harm to your skin is benzoyl peroxide. This solution may work to give you the cleansing you need, but it is considered harsh on the skin and it can actually cause more flare ups. An example of an ingredient that will do you some good in an acne skin care product that your favorite star may be selling is trichloroacetic acid. This component will cause the skin to peel, so that a newer skin will be revealed. This is an FDA approved acne treatment and it is highly recommended by dermatologists and plastic surgeons.

Chinese Medicine Approaches For Treating High Blood Pressure By Ron Shelf

Ron Shelf

Long before the invention of sphygmomanometer (the device used to measure blood pressure); traditional Chinese medicine simply label this disorder by the symptoms represented including headache and lightheadedness then clamminess and dampness of phlegm as stroke builds on.

Traditional Chinese medicine defines it primarily as Qi (vital energy and its component blood) insufficiency together with dysfunction of the Yin and Yang of the heart, kidney, and liver. Chinese Medicine practitioners think that depression and anger contribute to either excessive Yang build up or increasing aggravation of liver Yang (fire). Imbalance of Yin and Yang of liver and kidney will lead to obstructed Qi and blood circulation causing the blood to sprint upward leading to high blood pressure.

Chinese medicine for high blood pressure is intended to support Yin and subdue the excessive Yang, which can be achieved through acupuncture and herbal medicine. Acupuncture is a technique used in Chinese medicine to encourage the body to uphold natural healing and improve function through needle insertion and heat application in specific acupuncture points. Chinese medicine believes that acupuncture treatments have the ability to help internal organs to correct imbalances in the aim to improve blood circulation. This objective has been known and accepted as an effective Chinese medicine for high blood pressure.

Treating high blood pressure (hypertension) by means of herbs has been an essential part of the society since time immemorial. Examples of herbal medicine used in controlling hypertension include chrysanthemum flower, Lingusticum wallichii, and uncaria rhynchopylla. These herbs have been proven and tested helpful in controlling high blood pressure in Chinese medicine practice. Chinese medicine also considers foods like honey, Chinese celery, Chinese hawthorn, turnip, water chestnut, and seaweed to have a blood pressure lowering utility. Intake of any of these foods can be efficient in controlling high blood pressure in its premature stages by improving heart and circulatory function.

Chinese Medicine For High Cholesterol: Effective Or Not? By Ron Shelf

Ron Shelf

Too much cholesterol in the blood (high blood cholesterol) can be a severe medical condition that can result to varying circumstances that can be harmful to the body. Individuals may not notice that they have high blood cholesterol concentration present in the blood because this condition is not capable of producing symptoms. There are greater chances of getting heart related diseases when there is high blood cholesterol. Just like conventional Western medicine practice, there is also available Chinese medicine for high blood cholesterol.

Excessive cholesterol in the blood accumulates in the arterial walls that may cause narrowing of the arteries. This condition can cause hardening of the arteries; medically termed as atherosclerosis. In addition to this, high cholesterol is also a precursor for hypertension. Since Chinese medicine is aimed at treating the underlying cause for medical conditions, hypertension caused by high cholesterol is treated by controlling high cholesterol level initially.

While lifestyle modification can help reduce high blood cholesterol, Chinese medicine for high cholesterol can also be an efficient alternative if you want to treat the condition naturally. Acupuncture is an acceptable form of treatment that has long been part of Chinese medicine. At present, several western cultures consider acupuncture as a mew alternative medicine. Acupuncture is one method used in Chinese medicine that is vital in the management of high cholesterol level in the blood.

Cholesterol-lowering medications used in Chinese medicine include natural herbs like Chinese hawthorn and Jiaogulan. These two are considered as the best Chinese herbs for lowering high cholesterol and high blood pressure. They are known and proven in Chinese medicine practice as effective herbs in reducing blood lipids level.

Treat High Cholesterol With Red Yeast Rice

Red yeast rice has been known and proven for years in China to help lowering blood cholesterol.

Patients with high cholesterol should take four red yeast rice capsules daily. It can be taken as a supplement and mixed with other medicines.

Shan Zha for High Cholesterol

Shan Zha is hawthorn berry. It helps in promoting digestion and the movements of meals and fats.

It dilates the blood vessels and dissolves the cholesterol deposits in its lining. Shan zha can come in the form of pill or tea. It should be taken twice daily as a health supplement.

Gugul for High Cholesterol Treatment

Gugul has been used in combination with other herbal medicine for a long time now. The extract of gugul helps in lowering blood cholesterol because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

Gugul extract can also be taken as a tea.

Jiaogulan for High Cholesterol Treatment

This Chinese medicine can decrease the chances of stroke by inhibiting platelets from sticking together, preventing blood clotting.

This herb can help lower blood cholesterol for up to 25 percent. Jiaogulan or gynostemma contain large quantities of saponins. Saponins inhibit the formation of lipid peroxides, decrease blood coagulation, regulate cholesterol, and maintain the body's sugar levels.

While it remains a fact that prescription medicine are effective treatments for specific diseases; nobody can deny that some of them have undesirable side effects. Chinese medicine for high cholesterol is aimed at treating the underlying cause and not merely on relieving symptoms alone. It is always possible when utilized in combination with dietary and lifestyle modifications.

How To Get Rid Of A Toothache By Afzaal Rafiq

Afzaal Rafiq

Toothaches can be annoying, painful and downright distressing so anytime someone gets one the first thing they want to know is how do I get rid of a toothache. After all, no one wants to lose sleep and be in pain. And nothing is worse then a pain in your head. Though there are a great many possible causes of toothaches, to the toothaches sufferer you could care less, all you want is a solution for the pain, you can find out the source later.

Of course, the top solution is to go and see a dentist. But not everyone can afford that or has the ability to drop what they are doing at that moment to run to a dentist, and what happens if the toothache occurs at night? I don't know of any dentist I can call in the middle of the night to relieve my toothache, so instead we turn to other solutions.

To relieve your toothache, you can always try an over the counter anti-inflammatory or painkiller such as ibuprofen. It reduces swelling to the area and offers some pain relief so you may be able to sleep till the morning, when you can see a dentist. Another possibility would be a ice pack. Applied to the painful area you can reduce swelling and pain to give you a few more moments of time, before seeking dental attention. Try chewing gentle on a small onion. Some of the natural components to onions will help kill the bacteria in your mouth that could be causing your toothache and provide you with relief from the pain. Other prospective solutions could be Oragel or another topical area numbing product that you can purchase at your local drug store. Many drug stores are open all night so you should be able to seek this remedy no matter the hour. Of course, these are just possible solutions to alleviate your pain until you can seek dental attention to get to the possible cause of the toothache pain and relieve it permanently.

Getting rid of toothache pain doesn't have to be all that complicated. In case you do get toothaches you may want to keep one of the topical remedies on hand in your medicine cabinet; unless of course, you keep a regular stock of onions in your home. These techniques of course are just provided as tips to rid yourself of toothache pain, but it will only return unless you seek dental attention and get to the root of the pain.
Toothache pain can be the worse kind of pain. It makes you unable to eat, sleep, drink, concentrate, focus and for that matter enjoy anything at all. The worse part about it is its consistency. Its a slow steady throbbing pain that won’t go away unless you use the proper remedies. Always keep in mind that no matter how severe your toothache may be, there is always natural and medicated remedies that perform like magic and give you near instant results!

Scalp Acne: The Irritating Itch By John Mike Dale

John Mike Dale

Many people have to deal with the itchy problem of scalp acne, but plenty of them will go on thinking that it is dandruff, or some kind of rash. The thing is, not many people are aware of the existence of scalp acne, and we thought it our duty to educate.

When little red spots appeared just along her hairline, Janine Simmons, a 20-year-old flight stewardess with a US airline, thought it was just a rash and left it at that. A few days later, when her scalp began to itch pretty severely, she thought she had dandruff, but when she discovered little sores on her scalp, she could no longer ignore the matter and took her troubles to a dermatologist. It was only that she discovered that she had scalp acne, or scalp folliculitis.

Unknown territory

Because acne normally appears on the face, chest, and back, cases like Janine’s tend to be ignored until treatment becomes absolutely imperative. “The difficult thing about scalp acne,” says dermatologist Dr Andrew Waite, “is that the presence of hair makes the use of certain chemicals impossible.”

That’s from the doctor’s point of view. As far as the layman is concerned, scalp acne is probably far more common than most people realize. Scientifically speaking, scalp acne has most often been associated with high stress and anxiety, but it may also develop if the scalp becomes oilier than usual. The biggest problem, says 16-year-old Cathy Hillman, is that scalp acne is “itchy as hell” which means you are constantly tampering with the pustules.

Once you do that, there is a risk that your scalp acne will develop into acne necrotica miliaris – which is every bit as horrible as it sounds. Typically, you will get large papules that form black crusts, with the potential to leave behind noticeable scars. Yet another severe form of scalp acne causes very large papules and cysts simultaneously. Thankfully, this is a very rare occurrence, and I will not name it because you’ll never remember. If you really want to know, send me an e-mail!

Treatment for scalp acne

As with other forms of acne, normal scalp acne responds well to salicylic acid. Especial care is required to make sure that the scalp is never too oily though the use of harsh shampoos and other hair care products may not be a good idea. Of course, for the more severe forms of scalp acne, you will need to see a dermatologist.

Unfortunately, unlike with other kinds of acne, you cannot use the miraculous benzoyl peroxide to treat scalp acne. This is because the peroxide part of benzoyl peroxide can change hair color and even affect your hairstyle. Even so, there are various ways to treat scalp acne. And one very good way, particularly for mild to moderate cases, is to wash the scalp with mild shampoo. For slightly stronger cases, you might want to try antidandruff shampoos containing such anti-fungal chemicals as ketoconazole and ciclopirox.

Alternative treatments, depending on the severity of your condition, include topical antibiotics like clindamycin and erythromycin solutions, mild steroids in the form of lotions and creams, oral antihistamines and antibiotics (like tetracycline), and oral isotretinoin, the most famous brand name for which is Accutane.

Finding The Right Cosmetic Surgeon By Lisa Ortega

Lisa Ortega

Looking for a professional, a medical professional that is? Someone who knows the ins and outs of the surgical world? There are many experienced surgeons who are familiar with a great number of surgical procedures and who offer their time and concern for the wellbeing of their patients. It is important to explore what to look for when seeking a medical professional.

Finding a cosmetic surgeon who you can trust and feel comfortable discussing treatment options with is the most important aspect of seeking medical help. All too often patients seek out care and are not fully informed, not fully aware of their options, and not understanding the very treatment they seek. Whether looking for a nose job, chin surgery, weight loss surgery, augmentations, facial surgery, or any other sort of cosmetic surgery, it is vital to find a cosmetic surgeon who is experienced in the procedure in question and who is open and willing to discuss your treatment and the side effects in mind. Understanding the benefits and risks associated with any sort of surgical procedure is the responsibility of the patient. Waivers are signed and patients are liable for their own health. Additionally, a cosmetic surgeon who is open and wants to discuss your treatment with you, asking you questions about your desires, your goals, what you are looking for is a great surgeon to check into further. Seeking multiple surgeons out prior to treatment is another way to “get a second opinion” or three or four. The point is, unless you and as surgeon hit it off right away and you feel that he/she is the cosmetic surgeon you are looking for, don’t be too shy to seek out other options. As with anything in life, who will be performing surgery on your body is an important decision to make and deserves some thought.

There are a number of cosmetic surgeons who are capable of performing a vast number of different procedures. Some of the most popular medical work is begin done with minimally invasive treatment options which are possible through improvements in technology. Surgeons all over are being introduced to more effective and simpler forms of treatment that involve less recovery time, less discomfort, less operating time, less down time, and a number of other improvements. With this in mind, getting surgery performed with a cosmetic surgeon certainly has come a long way. It is of course important to be familiar with what desires and goals are important to you if seeking out surgery of any kind. Do your own research and ask plenty of questions. Make sure you understand how the procedure will be performed and stay active in your own surgery.

It is also important to investigate the financial commitment associated with any procedure. Most major health insurance providers will not cover procedures which are deemed cosmetic and have no real connection to a medical need. This is important to keep in mind so that the entire procedure can be satisfactory both in the results as well as monetarily.

5 Ways To Ease Root Canal Pain By Afzaal Rafiq

Afzaal Rafiq

Root canal pain is the pain you experience after having a root canal done at the dentists office. Basically a root canal is the removal of bacteria and the root of the tooth. The hollowed out tooth is then filled in to prevent further bacteria from entering the tooth and further decay damage. Modern dentistry techniques tend to minimize any pain that would be associated with a root canal procedure. Though it doesn't occur in all root canals, it does occur. So what can you do when you are one of the unfortunate individuals to experience this pain?

1. Take an over the counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen. This will help relieve the swelling and pain you may be experiencing from the dentistry. Ibuprofen is regularly used as an anti-inflammatory and is available in most drug stores.

2. If your pain is very severe, ask your dentist for a prescription pain-killer. Asa precaution many dentists will give you the prescription in case the pain becomes too much to handle. ( This avoids having to go to the doctors office or returning to the dentist.)

3. Try a numbing gel like Oragel. This is the type of stuff you use when little kids are cutting teeth. It numbs the area, makes you drool rather badly but can defiantly help with the pain. Ensure you don't use too much because excessive swallowing of the gel can cause you to stop breathing due to relaxed throat muscles.

4. The good old ice pack. As soon as you arrive home from the dentist apply an ice pack to the affected area. This works bot to numb the area and to reduce swelling that may result from the root canal.

5. Stick to a soft food or even liquid diet. You don't want to be eating any hard food products with your irritated teeth and gums. Sticking to liquid will provide you nourishment with minimal pain. Plus if it is something cold it will help to relieve some of the swelling as well.

You can easily relieve root canal pain with some regular everyday techniques. If you are one of the unlucky few to suffer from root canal pain, take comfort in knowing ways to relieve your pain. If your pain becomes very severe or does not clear up within a few days contact your dentist as some bacteria may still be present within the affected tooth. And although it would be unpleasant to have to endure another root canal, it is a better alternative to severe infection and sickness.

Trust me i’ve been through the most severe toothaches that you will ever imagine. Both you and I know that toothache pains can be some of the most gut wrenching consistent throbbing pains and you will ever have to endure throughout your lifetime . Thank god there are natural remedies out there to compensate for the dentist, cure your pain and not put a dent in your pocket book.
